The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>quality of light<\/strong><\/span> a plant receives is just as important as the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>quantity<\/strong><\/span>. Plants are sensitive to a similar portion of the spectrum as is the human eye. This portion of the light spectrum is referred to as Photo-synthetically Active Radiation or PAR, namely the wavelength spectrum of about 400 to 700 nanometres.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1826\" src=\"https:\/\/www.politiv.co.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" \/><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>LIGHT TRANSMISSION THROUGH GREENHOUSE COVERS<\/strong><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">When light &#8220;strikes&#8221; the greenhouse cover, a number of things might happen to the light wave.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">\u2022 It could be <strong>absorbed<\/strong> by the film, in which case its energy is converted into heat.<br \/>\u2022 It could be <strong>reflected<\/strong> by the film.<br \/>\u2022 It could be <strong>transmitted<\/strong> by the film. There are two types of transmission: direct or diffused.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\"><br \/>1. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Direct transmission (clear film):<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Occurs when light penetrates the film and its direction remains unchanged. Films with direct transmission have the highest light transmission, this directional and intense light creates shadows and burning rays.\u00a0<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\"><br \/>2. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Diffuse transmission (translucent film):<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Light diffusion is achieved simply by scattering light waves. A small intense beam of light scatters and disperses light waves across a wider area. Scattered light comes from many directions rather than from a single point of origin. The sun\u2019s direct rays turn into diffused light avoiding all direct transmission dis advantages.<\/p><p dir=\"ltr\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1963\" src=\"https:\/\/www.politiv.co.il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Diamond-Film.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"254\" height=\"243\" \/><\/p><p dir=\"ltr\">Light diffusion is achieved by adding mineral to the greenhouses covers, the standard diffusion agent and because of their chemistry, absorb part of the light, thus, the total light transmission is reduced. The Diamond 15 was developed to combine light transmission as the clear films and light diffusion without reducing the light transmission.
